Sailing is an activity where the more you learn the more you are able to appreciate and enjoy it.
Whether sailing or motor cruising, learning should be fun, whilst our courses encourage a responsible attitude to seamanship, they are conducted in a friendly holiday atmosphere.
The freedom of the sea is available to anyone with the inclination to step on board a boat, but putting to sea safely and with confidence requires skills which can best be learned from the specialist with wide practical experience in small craft, and above all with the ability to impart knowledge in a personable and understanding manner.
Trysail is provider of tuition to Portway Yacht charters, one of the UK's premier fleet of charter yachts, and as an officially recognised RYA Training Centre, operates in partnership with the local Adult Education Colleges.
Trysail is committed to raising the standards of seamanship practised by those taking up yachting for recreation, and teaching aspiring crews and skippers how to handle the different situations that may be experienced, in a correct and seamanlike way.
Instruction is provided by qualified Yachtmasters, experienced seafarers in their own right, who recognise that enjoyment is the foundation on which confidence is built.

| The Yachts |

All RYA Instructional Courses are held on recognised training vessels fitted with a full complement of safety equipment in accordance with DTp and RYA requirements.
Vessels used include a 29' Westerly Konsort, a Dufour 32 Classic and a MG335 providing a selection of traditional, modern and fast sloops.
Motor cruising courses are held on a Mitchell 31 and a Sealine 42 which provide the opportunity for experience in handling twin screw displacement vessel and a planing hull luxury motor cruiser.
